Former San Antonio mayor and HUD secretary Julian Castro’s memoir, “An Unlikely Journey”, will release on October 16, 2018. This book has been in the making for 6 years since he was the keynote speaker at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. The title itself comes from a phrase in Castro’s speech and it alludes to his family’s three-generation journey: his grandmother coming to America as a young orphan who was too busy trying to survive to consider her dreams to his mother who did whatever she could to fight the political establishment to twins Julian and Joaquin who thrived and were able to tell their own American success story.
