Bernie Sanders will be participating in a town hall hosted by Fox News on April 15 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Fox says that the town hall will focus specifically on economy and jobs. Fox News’ Special Report’s Bret Baier and The Story’s Martha MacCallum will moderate the event. Some Democrats are uncomfortable with Sanders’ decision to participate.
Sanders is not the only candidate doing a Fox News town hall. Independent Howard Schultz will have a town hall this Thursday. Pete Buttigieg also appeared on Fox News Sunday a few weeks ago for an 11-minute interview.
Even the DNC does not want to be involved with Fox refusing to allow them to host a Democratic primary debate due to their relationship with President Donald Trump. More Democratic candidates need to be brave and willing to appear on Fox. Fox is the most viewed news station with almost 1.4 million viewers per day; that is about 400,000 more views than MSNBC and more than twice as many views as CNN. Fox has far more Independent viewers than any other station as well. If anything, Fox News is the place Democratic candidates should want to appear in the hopes of appealing to voters who otherwise may not have considered them.
