This year, a record number of women are running for Congress influenced by the blue wave and the #MeToo movement. Four female Democratic candidates in New York have been receiving a huge amount of attention: Dana Balter, Tracy Mitrano, Liuba Grechen Shirley, and Tedra Cobb. In the past three months, these women have received millions of dollars from donors. Besides Tedra Cobb, this will be the other ladies’ first runs for public office. Less than two weeks before the midterm elections, Nonpartisan Cook Political Report has changed their report and are no longer listing any of the nine Republican seats as “Solid Republican.” New York is only one of nine states with more than four female Democrats challenging Republican incumbents.

Click here to read more on where these four Democratic candidates stand by Lisa Foderaro from The New York Times.
